Update on ❤️

Hey guys I don't know if you remember my last post about my specialist saying that it's not my valve that's the issue, well I had my exercise test on December 16th and yesterday I got confirmation that my results showed that I have limited exercise capability and that my valve is starting to affect me especially when I overdo it, my heart has to work harder and the more I over do it its so bad for my heart explains why I ended up in hospital in September. So I have become symptomatic with moderate to severe aortic regurgitation and moderate stenosis, valve disease and I will be getting 6 month check ups now next one in may and will be doing a repeat exercise test which I'm well worried about I only lasted 4 minutes and that really felt like I was pushing myself! The relief of knowing I'm not crazy!!! My valve is actually causing my symptoms and my ectopic beats are probably my valve aswell. So surgery is getting closer and closer it's a matter when! So they are keeping a close eye on me and it's a matter of watching and waiting and tests so I will update when I know more ❤️. Hope everyone is keeping well as can be at the moment x

Hi,On one hand it's good to hear you now know and have confirmation of what is actually wrong, on the other hand 😕

There is nothing worse than having one's sanity tested!

Keep strong! Sending you tonnes of love and good wishes. 🙏 💜 🤗😘

Great news! I mean it’s not an ideal situation, but clarity is so valuable.

I found Sept to be pretty much ideal as I didn’t waste any of the summer, and I’m now getting back to full fitness for spring.

Spend some time now getting familiar with which foods you eat have a lot of vitamin K in them and how consistent your total intake of vitamin K is. You may get a choice between tissue vs mechanical + warfarin. (I stupidly went in pretty blind, but thankfully I get on pretty well with warfarin — I have a large but fairly consistent K intake, and neither cranberries nor grapefruit affect my numbers any. And I’m happy to know my valve will last me out. It is a bit noisier though; no getting around that.)

We’ll be thinking of you…. ❤️‍🩹

Well you did better than me. I lasted only 2 minutes 50 secs.

Wow that's awful I'm so sorry x what did they say?

Nothing much really. Only that I’m positive for microvascular dysfunction. I do also have moderate mitral regurgitation but that has not worsened in 15 years so fingers crossed. I’m on usual HF meds so keep going OK. It’s good they seem to be on top of your problems now.

Similar to you, severely symptomatic but all the tests don't prove it. Made to feel like you're making it up or putting it on. But at last this week I've been told that my symptoms are more severe than all the tests would show in a typical person which is why I suffer so much with chest pain, shortness of breath, no exercise tolerance etc. even though the echos etc only show moderate problems. Got to have stress echo & mri now. Glad you are getting somewhere at long last, it's a battle to get anyone to listen & take you seriously isn't it? 😘xx

Oh wow I had MRI on Wednesday and I have my stress echo in March x it's so hard being taken seriously because the tests don't show what's happening makes you feel crazy i was beginning to think I was!! Literally until that phone call on Friday. Wish you all the best with your tests xx

Hi Yumz.Although probably not the outcome you were hoping for its a good thing that the tests have revealed the root causes of your issues.Knowing what the problem is is half the battle and then appropriate treatment/remedies can be prescribed. It's also great that they are keeping a close eye on you with 6 monthly follow ups and tests. In the meantime take things easy and stay positive!I wish you well.Plse keep us updated.

Not the best news but at least you have the peace of mind that they are keeping a proper eye on it.Out of interest did they get you to do the exercises test on a treadmill?

You can ask to use a exercise or recumbent bike instead if you are better doing seated exercises , or like me you can pedal better than run. Just a thought, it's worth contacting them nearer to the date to set up if you want to try it.

Take care , Bee

Hi there, iam so sorry to learn that your Arotic valve is giving you some trouble when you start to over do things, it's not fair, you have been thorough so much already to do with your health, main thing that you haven't given up, not like me, always feeling negative about things.
