Hi guys hope your all keeping well. Been an extremely long day but went very well! Got to the hospital 20 minutes late but they didn't mind which I was glad about was rushing to the hospital like an idiot so my blood pressure was 143/84 lol I knew it would be high for me it's normally 120/80 lol. Anway I had vitals, ecg and saw my consultant he's so pleased with me he said my heart is doing great and that will probably be 15to 20 years before I will need any operation which was so reassuring to hear especially from my consultant who I haven't seen in person in years! He's very impressed with me keeping fit, not drinking and keeping good dental hygiene so very good appointment. I was able to ask a few questions aswell my main one was what is a safe heart rate for when I'm exercising and he said 130 to 140 which it always is which is very good and I asked if I can go to gym every day and he said he doesn't see why not so I will definitely be doing that and see if that resolves the breathlessness. I have appointment next year and he wants to arrange an exercise test every 2 years which I'm very happy with.I'm absolutely exhausted got home at 8 o'clock so been home about an hour lol. I asked if I will get sent a letter and and he said yes a very long one! So there keeping a good eye on me so I think the way I've been feeling is my anxiety and depression flaring up and my asthma because it's getting colder now 😅.
He did make me laugh though, he said he was happy to hear I had a dentist and that it was like gold dust don't tell anyone else! 😁😅😅😂.
Take care and sorry for long post supprised I was up to it I'm knackered! ❤️

Thank you for asking, hubby isn't too bad. Unfortunately his kidney function took quite a big dip in a very short space of time. They've now stopped one of his heart meds which has improved his kidney function, it's still moderate/severe kidney disease but isn't now bordering severe, if that make sense!Take care, I'm very pleased to hear you're happy with the results & hopefully that'll help your anxiety
Ahh sorry to hear your hubbys kidneys aren't doing well x hopefully they should continue to improve now the heart tablet has been stopped. Thanks hun yeah it has I was so worried and all for nothing as usual! I did find out that somone made a very big error on my last clinic letter I don't have severe aortic regurgitation I have mild to moderate! So that's a huge relief aswell. X
Ah thanks hun yeah was so happy when he said that! I'm chilling on the sofa and watching TV in my pj's had to ly down when I got back x hope your keeping well ❤️

Going to the gym will help with your Anxiety and hopefully things will only get better for you, keeping a positive body and mind will help you in the long run going from strength to strength. Keep strong.Always take care

glad it went so well for you, keep up the good work, going to the gym certainly helps with depression anxiety I found for myself but I'm not allowed to go till after op, can't wait to get back to it,keep warm in this colder weather and keep smiling yr doing great
SiSo glad to gear you had such a positive appointment appointment. You must so relieved to know you're on the right track and absolutely amazing that you don't need surgery for quite some time. Good for you hun xx
Ahh thank you I was so relieved because that's what was worrying me so much, they said that they would only do it if my scans changed but I can't see that happening for a very long time!! Xx
This is so wonderful to hear! I'm so happy for you, that's the best news, you can get on and enjoy life and any intervention is a good way off. I have my post op cardiologist appointment tomorrow and am super nervous and have a long list of questions for them... I hope for as good a conversation as yours!! Xx
I remember the days when you were posting at the start of your exercise journey and the fact you really had to persevere at it. So a massive well done for meeting the challenge and reaping the rewards of it. Goes to show it is all worth while.
So pleased to hear everything is going well for you. And you're doctor is happy with everything. You are doing so well if your going to the gym every day as well. Sadly I think my gym days are over. I can get out of breath just trying to put a curtain rail up. And I am 68. So just try to enjoy life and keep going as much as I am doing and not get any worse. Hope you have a relaxing day after yesterday. Brian
That's great news, might help the anxiety? I got to see mine tomorrow possible medicine change. And to discuss the exercise test? Bit nervous but it is what it is. But when you have a congenital issue basically you have to make what you have efficient and help your heart as much as possible with things you can control, which is what you are doing. You are doing great.
Hello had my appointment. It was interesting. My new medication will be entresto and a diuretic. Not spironolactone. Carnt spell it at the moment. Any way. We will start low and titrate up. I try to be jolly at these meetings. But the first thing she said was I looked well. I suppose I have to take that as a positive. Deep down I am struggling. I done maximal effort on bike test but my oxygen levels dropped to 50%. I blame the weather. Today I panicked the nurse as she could not get an oxygen reading. I blame the weather. She said are your stats always low I said yes. So she got another nurse who tried and in the end once I had warmed up it got to around 80%. It's funny but not funny, if you know what I mean. Any way I have got to come to Barts at some point to have my pressures checked in my heart. So a day out in London carnt wait. Any way thought I would let you know how it is all playing out. Hope you are OK. Iam on setraline as well 50mg been on it since February but I did half it for a few months but now back to 50mg which is suppose to the therapeutic starting point.
Well that's why I have got to come to good old London Town. They don't do it in the flat lands of Norfolk. Any way she said I want the best man to do it and he is at Barts and Barts is the hospital that my adult team use when things need to be done. Not Cambridge that would have been nice a bit closer. So a few days in London. So to get the pressures in the heart they have to send a cathater device down into your heart, rummage around in the heart and into the lungs take some readings and pull it out. Sounds simple? . I think you are awake but it is definitely a bit daunting. She said to the wife she can do some shopping. They have got to get me through the door yet. Of course I googled it to scare myself silly.
I hope the procedure is not as bad as it sounds. Trouble is I have got get started on these new tablets yet which have be ordered in. So been without heart medication for a week now. But it is what it is. Hope the visit to barts is in warmer weather.
I don't know when the procedure will happen I said I would have it done. But with the back log I don't know. I don't think it will be until we'll into next year as I need to see how I get on with the new tablets and will be seen again in 4 months. It's all a bit of a pain really and I now get, how you and other congenital heart patients must feel. . It does hurt thinking that you have a fault, which is no fault of your own it's just nature. But we have to battle on and be strong and become resilient. But I suppose I will have more visits to Barts in the coming years.
Wonderful news. I join you in rejoicing! I think you are doing everything right but if you want to get even healthier try eating organic meat fruit and veg where possible. Also, manuka honey is a very tasty way to build a strong immune system, and I believe that grapefruit is good for chloresterol, I know you can't eat it if you are on statins. Enjoy a peaceful recovery day!
Ahh thank you x Im trying to eat more red meat and having a multi vitamin which ironically I forgot to have it today lol. I cant have grapefruit because of two medications I'm on. I'm definitely enjoying relaxing I'm exhausted! ❤️
Aww I’m glad it all went well. I don’t think they’re that fussed about time there, plus they know you come from far. Your blood pressure was up just like mine😀I’m sure it’s all the rushing around 😊
Thanks hun x yeah that's what my sister said but it didn't stop me stressing out that I was gona be late 😂. Yeah it's funny cause they didnt think it was high I probably looked like I had run there my hair looked a right state when I got there 😂😅x I wonder what my ecg looked like?
Hi Yumz, Just catching up on some reading, so good to see you had such a positive appt.
Great, and a relief that the regurgitation is actually mild to moderate and not severe as thought, so, hopefully this can help going forward in the coming years.
As someone who's been in this game for a longtime, my advice is to get on with life, enjoy yourself and try not to look over your shoulder.
Ah thank you x yeah that's what I've been doing 😁, mainly been resting cause I was exhausted from traveling and house work and shopping! 😂😴. How have you been? X
