This is a peer to peer support group of heart patients.None of us are able to intrepret ECGs.

I suggest you contact your GP or Cardiologist for advice.

Thank you for the fast answer, Milkfairy. The artifact presumption is coming from the doctor. In the meantime, I am trying to ignore the pain and to find out if there is something I can do to improve my condition. Not sure if ignoring is beneficial to me.

If you have chestpain, then I suggest you call 111 for further advice.

Thank you, I did. And those 6 - 10 seconds ECGs were almost all good, I heard. My albums of ECGs couldn't beat those short ones, same these days. Thank you, I will consider your advice, Milkfairy.

If the only reply to a question on this forum is, go to your GP, Cardiologist etc. then there’s no point to the forum existing, I find it interesting to find out what other people have experienced with surgery or the medication side effects, you won’t get that from doctors, mostly they haven’t personally experienced any of it, some people like to know what’s going on with their treatment and the results of tests and there’s nothing wrong with that.

However, is it appropriate to intrepret another person's test results without the full knowledge of their medical history or being accountable for that intrepretation or diagnosis?

A registered healthcare professional would have this information along with being accountable for their advice and diagnosis.

The community guidelines state:

"we ask you not to offer medical advice to other members of the community."

It's not a matter of being accountable, if someone wants to know more about their test results than they can get from their GP, cardiologist etc. then they have every right to search for an answer, if they're interested enough about their own condition it helps some people to know as much as they can about the condition, symptoms and test results, others are content to leave it all to their GP, cardiologist, that's their choice and their right, people posting here are interested enough to know what's going on with their body, that I assumed was the point of this forum.

What happens if a forum member intreprets another forum members ECG incorrectly?

pete109 profile image
pete109 in reply toMilkfairy

Nothing, it isn't advice, just an opinion, as I said if people aren't interested and content to leave it all to their GP then that's OK, there are plenty of teaching hospital websites with interesting information if they are, if people aren't interested then they wouldn't be asking on this forum, that's my point, I'm not having a go, sorry if it comes over like that.

An opinion could lead to harm.

It seems you have Atrial, Ventrical and T waves as normal but every second beat has a single missing R wave. This is quite common with the Atrial pulse not following through at times. I forget what this is called but Mobitz type 2 AV block rings a bell.

Thank you Palpman! Thank you and God bless you! I checked, looks like you`re right! I have been struggling for months, without treatment at the moment, looking for a doctor who can give me a diagnosis! The slow heartbeat, dizziness, fainting spells, pain and pressure in the chest, neck, and shoulder. I had reached 37 beats per minute and I could barely stand, that means almost 50% oxygen to the brain, probably. The lack of oxygen to the brain would explain the difficulties in speaking, walking and standing balance, and the drops in blood pressure. I took a treatment for venous circulation on my own and had an immediate improvement in speech and balance. But the chest pain and the feeling of being sick are still there, especially with exertion and cold. I am not well and I am trying to find help. Why is it so difficult to diagnose? I have dozens of pages like these, not taken into account. A few years ago when I received the diagnosis of tachycardia I had the same problem, a 10-second ECG which was good. I bought a small ECG machine and took the recordings. Then my records were taken into account. I received Atenolol when needed, but last summer I had an incident that I described on the forum before. Then, my treatment was changed to Bisoprolol, which makes it worse. The symptoms have changed, but the treatment does not help because since last summer I no longer have tachycardia, but only some small and short surges of blood pressure that appear after drops in blood pressure and low heart rate. As I said before, the body is probably trying to immediately recover from the lack of oxygen to the brain. In a few seconds or minutes, everything returns to normal. I try to ignore it, as I was advised, but I feel that it is not good to do so. Now I am trying to get a diagnosis, to know what can be done and that I am not at risk. I think a Coronary angiography would help, but here are other things. Thank you for your answer, it is the first concrete thing I have heard in months. Thank you!

There's also an Atrial Fibrillation Support group on here that might be able to help.

Have you tried any natural remedies to improve blood flow like Organic Cayenne Pepper ½ teaspoon mixed with water 3 times a day ( start with ¼ teaspoon ) or Nattokinase as I use instead of daily baby aspirin

abcom profile image
abcom in reply toHeart2025

I am taking Cayenne Pepper, not sure if this is organic, thank you for asking, Heart 2025! I will try Nattokinase, thank you for the suggestion.

Have you had an MRI ? might be worth pushing for one. There are other things that might be causing the chest pain such as pericarditis. Take care

I sent the ECG pictures to the cardiologist through my family doctor, he replied that they are artifact... That's why I'm trying to find a way to send him another message, maybe I'll get a second answer. I searched about ECG with second degree Mobitz 2 AV block, ECGs are exactly like that. Without a referral I can't do much and I don't know how I can wait until April when I will be able to see it. I cough dry on exertion and I get dizzy and all the other things, pain, pressure... The summer ECGs and the new ones are showing the same thing. Thank you Esme.

I have more bloody “waves” than the North Sea apparently it’s hereditary and so far over the last two years since my HA no one has treated me for it.I had a ECG in my local surgery many months ago ago had to go directly to A&E as showing symptoms a heart attack but was given the ok whilst there. My BP,Pulse and Sats are excellent even with these abnormal waves.Good luck

From January to late September trying to find out what was wrong with my husband. Long story short Drs kept waving us away or doing loads of small tests (Speech therapy😵‍💫🤦‍♀️) blood test!! Heart ok👋👋.

Did what we should have done Earlier, Paid (controversial) for scans with Vista, saved my hubby's life, DRAMATIC No, they rang at 8am next morning, 'you need urgent medical intervention on your heart'. Missing out the next bit, he got an appointment for 3wks time, but ended up being Blue Lighted in before it; He had his OHS. He's 73 & was diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease Aortic Valve 2 flaps instead of 3. His Father died aged 57 & other men in the family young too. So now All have to be checked out!

Hope you can get sorted out soon X
