Thanks for the link I wondered how my BP meds were lowered and that may be why. Also now on Clopidogrel so may need to use less often.

Ah, looks like your researches have picked up the need to be careful about mixing Chia seeds and Clopidogrel. Recently I started a thread about my reluctance to take Omega 3 - I'm on Clopidogrel too - especially as I have several portions of fish each week

I also tend to eat a lot of fish being as I live near the ocean.

Here's a pretty scientific study

verywellhealth.com/dangers-...

There are down-as well as up-sides. Chia seeds are not easy to digest and may pass through the bowels unused. Probably in that respect they are best mixed in with other seeds.

The other down sides are noted in the article. 2 tablespoons seems quite a lot

2 tbs is too much , I have 3 level tps in with frozen fruit and left to thaw over night, the juice gets absorbs by the chias. It's not good to have them as they are as they cannot be absorbed in the system, having them in porridge would be OK if you cooked the porridge on the hob

I have 1 tbsp of chia seeds plus 1 tbsp’s of Linwoods flaxseed mixed with Greek yoghurt and fruit every day, they are full of omegas and good fats and protein, I find they keep me regular, they won’t do you any harm

Oh thank u so much I've been doing a sachet of microwave porridge with 2 table spoons of chia seeds and cut up strawberries and a banana is that ok u think 🤔

Dump the microwave sachets and buy the Co-op Irresistible jumbo rolled oats, much less processed, so better nutritionally, still microwave them, cook for a minute at a time, stir and repeat, leave it on the wet side as the chia and flax will stiffen it up. I add blueberries or blackberries, these provide good levels of phenols, I also use strawberries occasionally, most dark red fruits are heart healthy. For a little change I make Swiss Bircher with the uncooked oats, enough skimmed milk to make it very moist but not too sloppy, grate in a full apple squeeze half a lemon, add a tablespoon of Greek fat free yoghurt and a chopped banana, leave it to develop for 30 minutes, delicious 😋

I take chia seeds and flaxseed, it was trial and error at first. I had a tablespoon of each in my porridge, but I started to feel a bit unwell/sluggish almost like a constriction high up in the stomach, I adjusted this to ½ tablespoon of each and all has been well since, my bloods have shown very good results. I also take ½ teaspoon of Ceylon cinnamon in my porridge. It's important to give the chia seeds time to swell before you eat them. I think your 2 tablespoons is excessive.
