hi I know it’s a big shock when you are first told, I have lvsd, I had never heard of it until 2 years ago mine was caused by high blood pressure but now I take 6 tablets daily and I feel it’s improved my quality of life.

You are never on your own in this group everyone is so kind and supportive. X

it always seems bad but the heart function (prefer this to failure) nursing team are an invaluable resource and they recommend or prescribe medications that can help improve the heart function. There’s 4 main ones and they all work in different ways to potentially help increase the function and improve symptoms. Plus you can ring them for advice whenever you need it or for reassurance, without an appointment. One ones I know anyway, it would hopefully be the same across the NHS.

Hey! About a year ago I was diagnosed with moderate LVSD, after about 6 months it was 'upgraded' to severe. Now, 6 months later my EF is great thanks to the medication I was put on... Literal lifesavers! I know it scary, I've only recently accepted it, but engaging with the team, being compliant with my meds and time have definitely calmed my anxiety.. you're not alone in this!

I was under the impression a bypass operation can improve this condition greatly..I hope this is the case try and be positive
