Has anyone had one of these scans, I have been invited to have one at the Royal Brompton.

It involves 2 days of only eating protein and then 18 hrs of fasting. It is looking for signs of any Sarcoidosis re the heart. I have had Sarcoidosis for 15 years Thankfully stable with no treatment Had heart attack and 4 stents 4 years ago.

I had one back in September... looking for Sarcoid in my heart. Stick to the diet as it makes all the difference for the quality and accuracy of the scan. The actual process was quick and easy. You get an injection (magic radio active dye), then wait about an hour whilst it whizzes round your body, you then have a normal CT scan - lie down, get moved through the donut. Easy!
