Pacemaker recovery and getting back to exercise

Hi

I had a pacemaker fitted 4 weeks ago and feeling ok . As I start to do some gentle exercise my thoughts are for future and what heart rate to expect at different training zones as I get used to a new normal. Has anyone been for a fitness test on a bike so you can be advised on new thresholds and training zones.

As my resting heart rate is now 50 rather than 32 it seems worrying when it goes up. I could not get chest heart rate belt to work , guess it interferes with the pacemaker so tried an optical one on the arm but it seemed inaccurate and was recording higher levels even when manually I was taking my pulse and it was not high.

Thanks for any advice or thoughts.

I have had a pacemaker since 2022. I do 10 mile walks most weeks and have a personal trainer. We use a bike and cross trainer. My pacemaker is set at 50 - 140, so we keep a check on the pulse rate to make sure it does not go above the 140. By slowing down to let pulse rate reduce.
