Hi I'm allergic to the dye as I discovered during a CT scan so when I needed an angiogram following a HA they gave me some form of anti-histamine via my cannula first and I was fine. I know other people who are absolutely fine so it's not a given that you'll react. Hope your fine

I had a Cardiac catheterisation via a radial route and for hours afterwards I was violently sick and they injected me with anti sickness twice it did nothing to stop it. As I have a long journey to Bart’s for this scan the thought of being that ill on my return journey is very daunting. I so hope it works for me 2018 like it did for you that’s comforting to know.

Me and my husband have both had CT scans and both had no reaction to the dye. My son had a MRI with dye and he never had any issues either. Are you due a CT or have you already had it?

When a dye has been used before I was violently sick for 6 hours after and the anti sickness did nothing to abate it. I have to travel a couple of hours approximately to have this scan done so am concerned.

I had an allergic reaction to the contrast dye, I had a rash come up on one half of my face and the opposite ear. I had to have a ct scan recently, they refused to do it, and recommended I had a nuclear scan instead.

I also can't really eat shell fish, without being ill afterwards

Hi there..The last time I had a Ct scan with the contrast dye I got a rash on my stomach which went up2 my neck, I felt really hot for about 2 hours after, the rash was gone the next day. It's really difficult not to have the contrast dye when you have an Aortic Root & ascending aneurysm of 40mm which needs checking

Most contrast dies contain iodine, and they have found if you are allergic to shellfish, you should not have the iodine one. There are alternatives, so I would discuss your worries beforehand. The alternatives are more expensive, but if there is a worry about allegies, they will use those instead. Good luck and hope it all goes well.
