Hi all, I had a stent put in in August 2024 following a heart attack. My arm seemed to heal pretty well after a few months but in the past month recently it's started really aching almost everyday I suspect it's one of the arteries. I had 2 heart angiogram procedures one to diagnose my heart problem and another to insert the stent, because there's one vein or artery in particular that aches really badly from wrist to elbow. Has anyone experienced long term pain in an artery after angiogram? And have doctors offered any solution?

Pain in arm months after stent insertion
Hi, I had an emergency stent (and angiogram) following a HA, about a month after the procedure I started to suffer from pain in the wrist when I rotated it, also losing strength. I dont know if it was a consequence of the procedure but I have never suffered this before, nor could I attribute any 'accident' or strain to the symptoms so I feel the procedure was a likely candidate.
Complications are not uncommon from Stent procedures. Four months post procedure later and I still have this but much less so now, I'm quite philosophical about it however, it is a small price to pay if thats what it has to be!
Hi Llyn_On thanks for the response 🙂 it's quite discouraging to think I may live with arm pain almost every day for the rest of my life... but maybe just like you I do have to take the glass half full approach because indeed it is much better then if my heart attack wasnt caught and treatment wasnt given! hopefully in time my pain also becomes less ....
