Hi everybody,

it is my first time posting. I am looking for information about managing my heart condition as well as connecting to like-minded people with similar problems.

Hi and welcome. I read your bio and I'm sure you will get lots of help with your quality of life, especially after you get help from professional health. We can only offer suggestions and support. One step at a time. Take care. Moni

Are you being treated for your heart condition? Are you due surgery of any type or is it purely medication?

Is there anything you can do to help yourself. For instance are you overweight, have a poor diet, need to get a bit more appropriate exercise?

I have yet to see a cardiologist, have been prescribed medication by arrhythmia nurse, had one cardio version which was only successful for about 5 days. The arrhythmia nurse is now suggesting that I have got heart failure. We are waiting for the cardiologist and his advice. I take on responsibility and try to help myself by reducing weight, exercise , relaxation techniques.

The cardiologist may need gently prodding from time to time, otherwise you may be overlooked. It doesn't sound as if you can move forward to whatever the next step is until you have had a proper Cardiology appt which will likely be preceded by tests.

Getting to the correct weight and being fit and mentally prepared will certainly be useful

Do you know what your heart condition is and are you under the care of a cardiologist and had all the tests done and on the correct medication for your condition?

Until you know what type of heart condition you have people can't give you their advise on how they manage.with the same condition. You need to supply more information to get help .

Your bio and post don’t tell us where you are in your journey what I’ve found personally is the more you put in your post the more information and support you’ll receive in your replies.

For an example it’s taken over 2 years for me to get where I am now, which should be the end of my main journey and that is I’m having a CABG should be mid January and a triple.

Obviously they’ll be rehabilitation so a further 12 weeks and all things going in my favour I’ll be discharged and then back to me to get back to full fitness and looking at my ongoing lifestyle and living my normal life.

The journey as I call it has not been plain sailing and I have the mental side to deal with especially after my eventual diagnosis in September and my meeting with a case manager who categorically ruled out stents despite my case for stents as I’m fit and “ healthy “ and have had no discomfort in my chest for 2 years.

I wish you all the best on your journey and hope all works out well.

As others have pointed out, you might get more relevant responses if your post was clear about what heart condition you have. You can add this by editing your post. This can be done by selecting the "More" option on your post and then selecting "edit"
