Unexplained sharp or dull pains on the right hand side of my chest after having stents fitted.

I'm 71 years of age (born 1953) in Northern Ireland and I was super healthy (or so I thought) until July '24 when I had a mild heart attack. I then had 4 stents fitted on my left hand side and since then I have been having either unexplained sharp or sometimes dull pains on the right hand side of my chest, the stents were fitted via my right hand wrist so I was thinking possible artery bruising but after 19 weeks I assumed that after this time the bruising would have healed. It is very hard to talk to others that are having similar symptoms to find out if this is normal. My NHS cardiologist maintains that they are not heart related but as I told her ' I didn't have them until I had my stents fitted' - conversation over. I am now having tests at a private hospital in Belfast.

Hello :-)

I have not had stents but Bypasses and with either I do believe it can take a while for everything to settle down

Maybe give it a few more weeks and if things have not improved approach them again and tell them your concerns even though it is positive that your Consultant is happy with everything

You could also contact the BHF Nurses and talk with them as they are very helpful

Happy Christmas :-)
