Slight Abnormality of the Pumping Chamber on right side of my heart

Hi l hope everyone is well and staying safe. I wonder if anyone could shed some light on what possibly could be meant by a letter I received from my cardio consultant. I have recently been diagnosed with Primary Sjorgrens and Raynauds. The letter are results my ultrasound on heart. It shows I have slight abnormality of the pumping chamber on right side of my heart known as the right ventricle. An appointment had been arranged for an MRI Card Morphology Func with Contrast scan, obviously the appointment has been cancelled due to the Virus and safety. Now that this appointment has been cancelled as rightly so I not sure when I'm likely to have it done. Does anyone have any idea what this could mean. My symtoms are tightness across my chest and struggle breathing very light excercise and generally cleaning house especially changing my bedding. I tire easily doing thi gas like changing my bed and i have sporadic like electric jolts pain to centre of chest it only last at the most 3 seconds other than the tightness this is the pain I have.

Hi Yellow-Petal and welcome.Sorry to hear all you've been through.I don't have experience of a problem with the right ventricle but have a mildly thickened left ventricle due to high blood pressure.I had an echo scan last year but luckily my heart was pumping normally.Do your doctors know about your pain? If not, perhaps you need a phone consultation with your GP just to be on the safe side.Of course if your pain is troublesome you could also phone 111.I know they are busy with Covid but they have been saying on the news that people should still get help when needed.Hope you get it sorted.

Thank you for your reply. Hope you are alright and are being looked after by your consultants. Yes my consultant know my symptoms I've had various test but all showed their was no blockages in arteries or valves so it wasn't angina. They took me off Asprin at end of January which I was put on 5 years ago because I have mild Athesorosis left carotid arteries and a suspected TIA after an angiography showed all arteries were clear and heart was OK THE consultant wrote to my doctor to take me off them. I had the Ultrasound after the Angiography which has showed the slight abnormalities in chambers so I'm confused one minute I'm been took off thinners and told I was fine and now this.

Its all confusing I suppose its nothing to worry about otherwise they would have had me in on the 7th when my scan was due.

Yes,I'm fine at the moment.Actually treatment is keeping my bp.quite low at the moment.Hope you get some answers soon.

Hi Yellow Petal

It is possible to have angina without blocked coronary arteries.

Has your Cardiologist considered non obstructive coronary artery disease such as Microvascular or vasospastic angina?

Both these types of angina are associated with Raynaud's Phenomenon and auto immune conditions such as Sjorgen's syndrome.

MVA and Vasospastic angina are under recognised as many Cardiologits have little knowledge of the conditions.

Some types of MVA can be detected by a perfusion MRI.

Breathlessness rather than chest pain is a common symptom of MVA

Thank you ths is very interesting none of this has been mentioned i have had the impression up until I received the results from my Echocardiogam i was not believed. As I have been going back and forwards for tests for around 5 years now. Each time my symptoms worsen.

This last time was just before Christmas I got an appointment with consultant on NY eve they did the ECG I was seen by an experienced nurse who took notes of my symptoms explained the ECG was normal nothing more. I followed her answer with the question do I go away and ignore these pains tightness and breathlessness if you can say yes to this I will.

She went and got the consultant to come and talk to me who asked me what I wanted them to do I replied I just want some answers if I should ignore the symptoms I'm explaining to you tell me. That was when they requested the Angiography which as explained was normal infact he said I had no heart problems at all. He sat with me after the procedure and said I can safely take you off Aspirin as its not needed. I don't know what is causing your symptoms you will need to go back to your doctor. That was at the end of January.

I had the Echocardiogram 13th February didn't hear anything until 23rd March it was the letter to go for MRI requested by the same consultant who took me off Asprin now asking me to go for the MRI with contrast no explanation.

2 weeks later I received cancellation due to Virus and safety. The following day I received a letter from the consultant i saw on NY Eve advising me of results of Echo scan they were questioning slight abnormalities in the Right Chamber known as Right Ventricle and that she had requested an MRI scan.

This is why I'm confused

My symptoms are very bad tightness over chest as if been squeezed. Breathlessness with excertion even just changing my bed and electric shock like jolts of pain can happen 1 and 3 times a day some days nothing only lasting seconds.

I have a family history of heart attacks my son at age 33 my mum age 42 and my father who passed away age 47.

Perhaps when the coronavirus crisis is over and you have had your Cardiac MRI you will have the opportunity to discuss further with your Cardiology team the possible causes of your symptoms.

Have you had a nail fold capillaroscopy to diagnose your Raynaud's phenomenon?

It took sometime to get my diagnosis and I felt too that I wasn't believed. I had a very specialised angiogram to confirm my diagnosis.

Yes I had this test in October last year it was part of tests to diagnose sjorgrens. I didn't receive results only mentioned on letter to my doctor confirming I had shortens and Raymond's. Hopefully I will get some answers. Thanks again I will have a look at the link you have added.

Thanks for this information Happyjo I have called my doctors waiting for them to contact me back sometime today.

As you say I need to know what this means if only to give peace of mind.

Every morning I have a cough which brings up a little bit yellow phlegm I know this sounds strange but it tastes like glue not that I've tasted glue but what I imagine it would taste.
