I have been prescribed Dapagliflozine for Heart Failure .I have taken it for 10 days but the last 4 days have found breathing very difficult much worse than before

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this

Thanks once again for any observations

yes I had similar initially but I was taking for diabetes. Thrush can be another side effect but for me in both cases side effects were short lived and I’ve been on it over 5 years.

I’d stay stick with it, it definitely is benefitting me for diabetes and subsequently my heart condition. I’m 14 weeks post double bypass.

I’ve been on Dapagliflozin for almost a year now. I’m lucky to have had no apparent side effects. It’s raised my LVEF from 46% to 55%, but hasn’t allowed me to do any more exercise. My cardiologist said when putting me on it that it will “help protect my heart”.

So I totally agree you should keep trying, but first check what the side effects are and let your cardiologist know how you’re feeling.

Thank you AsteroidsSorry to hear it hasn't helped you do any more exercise

I have written to my cardiologist but heard nothing back yet

I will see him in 2 weeks time for an ablation

Just hope this blip doesn't affect the result of the ablation in any negative way

Good luck for the future

Only thing I understand is that you have to be careful with UTIs when taking Dapagliflozin
