I was on 5mg on Bisoprolol but it was making me exhausted. It was reduced to 1.25mg and I was told to take it before I went to bed. I do notice odd feelings around the chest area about a couple of hours before I'm due to take it (as if the previous dose has worn off). These subside once I've taken the next dose.

I take mine at night so I'm not too sleepy in the day time.

That's a high dose so night time makes sense 👍

I took mine in the morning and was tired most of the day. My GP advised to change to evening before bed. Made a huge difference. Sleep well and not tired in the daytime

Might try that even though the Gp said take in morning

I take mine in the morning, but by evening, is the time I start feeling things in chest and heart area

I don’t feel anything . Consultant said I could come off it . Will give that a go. Nstemi and 4x CABG July 2023. If your GP supports taking it evenings and it suits you , 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I was on morning and night due to the medication half life, yes increased sensitivity in the chest area but that could last most of the day, now been changed to Sotalol morning and evening.

Hill mobyfool, it could be you need more, as I was put on Bisoprolol 2.5mg in the morning and the same dose at 6pm evening as sorted me out a treat as I can understand your 1.25mg in morning wearing of, I'd go back to GP and tell them this, could well be you'll need the same dose in evening like myself albeit in on 2.5mg twice per day, all the best 👌

I was told the opposite to others here i.e take in the morning because heart slows down at night anyway. But it may depend on the dose.

If I was only given one dose it would be in the morning

Problem is they put me on 1.25 when I started back in April, then after a day a different gp put me on 2.5 and the following week had real problems with it nearly collapsed a few times, they brought it back down to 1.25 and since then I,ve been on and off them, that's why I,ve been put on waiting list for cardiologist

Im on 2.5 and split it take half at night and half in the morning. I'm on 4 other meds that I take at night to lessen the side effects. Another thing that helps is I get up early and the first thing I do is have a 30 minute brisk walk, this also seems to lessen the side effects.

Also take mine before I go to bed 2.52.5mg.

was told to take it on a night

as to sleep off any side effects

I have always been told to take it first thing. But when I was told to increase my dose to 5mg per day, I asked if it would be ok to split the dose, taking 2.5mg am and evening. This seems to work for me. I only thought to ask this question after reading other comments on this forum, so I'm really glad that I joined. It's worth having a chat with your GP about your concern.

My cardiologist said to me, to take it before bed time, thus avoiding any adverse reactions. So far so good.
