Why do I feel so breathless
Hello, If you're often breathless & if it's impacting your daily life & you're worrying about it you should ask your GP for a heart failure blood test or go to A & E.youtu.be/QEt2lvWoMxA?si=7bU...
Same with me. We need to get our illness under controllas much as possible. I cant take the drugs
If it's really getting worse so rapidly I'd say go to A&E, that's what I did. From being quite fit over a period of a week or so I became unable to walk a quarter mile without stopping to catch my breath. I was admitted and two days later a pacemaker was put in, I've been fine since. Good luck!
I was similar, I done 111, explained my symptoms, within 2 hrs I had ambulance and a bed in A&E. 3 1/2 weeks later I left hospital after an AVR and CABG!!
I have had that happen three times over the decades and each time it was pulmonary edema. The last time put me in the ER because it was so bad I couldn't even manage 20 feet without being doubled over trying to breath. It also was a sign of my aortic valve malfunction that was discovered then.
I too get very breathless even just walking into another room. In October last year a hospital team referred me to cardiology followed in January by a GP referral. I'm still waiting to hear anything. After my HA and stents i was told I had two further LAD blockages not bad enough to stent at around 64%. I'm worried sick they may have got worse but two urgent follow up letters by GP have had no effect. Can't afford private.
I wouldn't wait. Go to emergency today.
Oh I've rung his secretary numerous times with no result . I'm disabled and A&E is an hour away. I can't do it unless it was an emergency. One way taxi is £30 now. Last time in A&E was when I had the HA. It was 5 hours before I even saw a nurse. That p lace is evil. GP has done lung function, ECG , holter monitor etc with no results so A&E unlikely to do anything else.
How are you disabled? Due to back pain (spinal stenosis)? I have it and don't walk unless absolutely necessary. Does the disability stop you from walking? If so, it may be why you are out of breath easily.
Or if your 64% were identified a few years ago, it may be time for another Angiogram.
I had to 'encourage' a cardiologist to consider an Angiogram when I became easily out of breath riding up hills on my road bike. He did it and I had two stents inserted. No prior heart concerns!
Be more emphatic with your GP.
If it becomes more severe, call the ambulance and indicate it is an emergency.
Hahaha I wish I Only had stenosis. I have Maigne syndrome, scoliosis, spondilo lysthesis, degenerative disc disease and fibro. MY spine is totally shot plus peripheral neuropathy. Yes it could be my spine but that's what my GP insisted it was before my heart attack so I just need to be sure whether it's these two blockages. Another angiogram or a CT scan is why my GP has done the referral and chased it up. He couldn't be more emphatic.
