My 73 old mother had a horrific experience of her device activated. She is living in fear and I was hoping there was someone out there who could share their experience, advice to support her.

Severe Cardiomyopathy. I was wondering if there is any support for someone who has experienced their defibrillator being activated.
Himthere, can you tell me the form of cardiomyopathy you have please? I have dilated.
I have this to look forward to. By reading the info I gather if it activates to see the cardiologists at hospital.
A friend has one,his remarks were it kicks like a mule
My late husband had a Defibrillator for 20 years and I witnessed it kicking in several times. He would shout out and feel off colour for a few days, also said it was a kick like a mule. I would ring Southampton General to let them know and they would see him the next day. He also had to contact DVLA as he wasn't allowed to drive for six months (I didn't enjoy becoming Duty Driver). Apart from that, life went on as norma.l My husband had his first heart attack at 52 and lived till he was 80. Please tell your mother not to be afraid, the device is just doing its job.
Hi I had cardiomyopathy and my icd fired in the early hours of the morning, the monitoring unit at the hospital phoned and I was admitted for 24 hours for observation, apart from that and having to inform the DVLA and send back my licence for six months everything just went on as normal. I had no extra check ups or scans and it never fired again. Char
