I had a heart scan 2 years ago and recently had a phone call from my consultant saying he had requested a referral to the heart clinic for me. Went yesterday was seen by a nurse who informed me that according to my scan and blood test she was convinced that I had had an heart attack previously but couldn’t say when. Surely I would have felt it the only time I felt poorly was when I had covid in 2021. They have prescribed me Forxiga which is for diabetes and used for heart failure as well.
Has anyone else had this I’m now worried incase I have another heart attack .

well, I think she should have reassured you that, whilst this is not the normal thing it’s not unknown.
When my husband, 22 years ago, had his first angina attack he was asked “are you sure you haven’t had a heart attack?”. And talking to others at around that time we found a few instances.
Anyway, my husband is still around and kicking (well playing golf anyway) at age 82 after a couple of stents.
Hi, a similar thing happened to a friend, who was told he’d had a mild heart attack - possibly a couple of years previously, which at the time, he’d put down on a bad bout of indigestion! I suppose it depends on the severity of the attack and how unwell it makes you.
Re the Forxiga / Dapagliflozin medication, my Consultant Cardiologist advised me when I was prescribed it last Nov, (following a valve replacement in the June), that it is the ‘gold standard’ of heart meds. Apparently it reduces the amount of work your heart has to do and it did help initially increase my E.F from 35 - 45%. It is also considered one of the 4 pillars of heart failure meds.
Hopefully, you will get a follow up appointment to check how you are and to discuss your concerns. You could also contact one of the B.H.F nurses on this site, who may be able to advise you sooner. Hope you get on ok.
I have a follow up at heart clinic in 4 weeks to see how the new meds are going ,at the moment I’m not sleeping and feel sick hopefully it will calm down once my body adjusts to the new tablets
