Hi all, I had my triple bypass last March, post surgery was not pleasant, but have made good progress. I am now going to the gym and swimming 4 times a week.
I recently noticed that just below my chest, where the ribs meet was a slight bulge, and if I push my fingers into it, I feel a definite hole there. I didn't make too much of it before, thinking that it would heal by itself and that it was part of the surgery, as the surgery scar extends past this location.
I went to see my GP recently, and he immediately said that its a hernia. I was taken back by this observation. It might be termed a hernia but I'm thinking this is not an internal organ protruding through my muscle wall, but that it very might well be that this muscle has not been stitched up, partly stitched up or even totally forgotten.
Has anyone else come across this problem in their journey? I would appreciate some feedback, thanks in advance

The problem I have is that I also have a lower back problem and need to strengthen my core muscles, and doing this with a hole in the stomach muscles does not sound wise
I'd rather the surgeons put it right, it carries risks living with a hole in your stomach muscles, omission like this, for what ever reason should not be acceptable, it shows poor standards
