personally, I use the app “My Net Diary” which does a lot of calculations for you. Whether this would answer your question adequately I don’t know. It’s free or you can upgrade to a paid version

Lower fat is not necessarily the answer. If you buy a product which is usually high ish in fat, and it shows a low-fat option, we have to think about what the manufacturers have added to make the product palatable.

It is now thought that such additives aren’t good for you, as they are products which you wouldn’t have in your kitchen so your body doesn’t know how to deal with it.

If you stick to freshly prepared foods with plenty of veg at home you are Likely to be on the right track.

You might want to look,at the website of Blood Pressure UK which has a section on diet.

This is what is on the NHS website -

most adults should target their diets to comprise of 45-65% Carbohydrates, 10-35% Protein and 20-35% Fat.

AND on the NHS Eatwell Guide it shows a far far lower proportion of fat, even if you include dairy in that, And this says use low-fat options, which is now known to be a fallacy.

Grrrrrrr!

Nutracheck is very good for this. Can cost as little as around £25/year. You can set any 4 on your phone from protein, fat, saturated fat, fibre, sugar, salt, carbs, and calories, or all of them on a larger screen. Personally I keep an eye on protein, sugar, salt and fibre, sometimes I switch from fibre to sat. fat. Although it is marketed as a calorie controlled diet system, I find that, for me, my selection means that calories take care of themselves.

Hi, yes it is Nutracheck that I am on.. As you only get the option of lower fat ( I know its the sat fat you have got to check) and lower sugars, I dont know which one to go for... or carbs! or what!?? lol
