I am scheduled for CABG X 3 in mid October at Royal Brompton. I have few questions:
1. I will have graft taken both from hand and leg. Do they make keyhole incision or a cut?
2. I had a tooth chipped off couple of weeks back. I am bit worried that my teeth might not be that strong and may chip off during incubation. There is no infection. I will inform my anaesthetic during admission but how risky chipped tooth during surgery is? The PDFs I read says the surgery goes on and they will inform about the chipped tooth after surgery. So , I think for CABG it's not risky .
Update: Due to policy, I have removed my one question from the list.

talk to your dentist about the tooth. If you wait until you see the anaesthetist you might find that it should have been dealt with and your procedure thus put off.

Good morning, my husband had a CABGx3 a week ago. They used the mammary artery and one large vein from the leg. He has a wound on his leg from ankle to just above the knee. The cut is up the calf.
My husband's CABG is scheduled for 2nd October and was told by his surgeon's registrar there was no need to visit a dentist if he had no infection/pain. However asking on here and BHF nurses was warned that any loose tooth could cause the op to be cancelled. So he is due for an extraction tomorrow - checked with his cardiologist and his surgeon's team if it was OK to have it done so close to surgery and was told OK if no infection. We were told vein harvesting wouldn't be by keyhole that was only done when vein was deep in the leg and difficult to get at. This may be individual surgeon's decision though. So worth asking to know what to expect.
Hope you get things sorted and good wishes for your surgery.
