24 hour ecg

Just add a 24 hour ecg fitted. They found I have a irregular heat beat on top of my heart disease. As anyone else add this diagnosis if so how do they treat it. My gp are waiting for the cardiologist to get back to them first before any treatment will be issued

Hi, it will depend on the irregular heart beat. Most aren’t dangerous. They can just leave it unless it affects your life and you tell them so, they can put you on medication they can offer cardioversion, they can offer ablation.

They can also do tests, ECG, angiogram, echocardiogram, chest xray and MRI to see if the heart structure is ok before they even start treating.

All these things take time so you have to be patient and wait for the cardiologist or Gp to tell you the next step

You mentioned you already have heart disease so with that diagnosis they have already seen your hearts condition, i suppose, so you might not have to go through most of those tests.

I have the same and had to have an angiogram on the 14th July this year and although I have my results which were sent to my GP, I am awaiting an urgent referral with Cardiology at the hospital.

So I really do understand your predicament.
