24 hour ECG

Was set up with a Lifecard CF this morning for a 24 hour ECG.

Just noticed it saying error battery low!

No chance of getting hold of anyone now so wondered if anyone knows whether I should try and change the battery or leave it? Is it still recording? Or is this a waste of my time and I’ll have to do this again?

Cheers

Hello :-)

Personally I would not try changing the batteries

I would keep it on and give them a ring early in the Morning and see what they have to say :-)

You might have to go through it again depending but even if you did it will be worth it :-)

Let us know how you get on :-) x

thanks

I fiddled about with it and it started recording again but no idea how or why?!

I’ve written a message on the ‘events’ paper and will give that in in the box I got with the monitor.

Hope it didn’t miss too much recording time!

Cheers 👍

Hello :-)

Right I am not sure then if you fiddled with it if it will be ok or not

Before you put it in the box with your note try and speak to someone and tell them what has happened

Hope it will have managed to get the readings they need :-) x

there is a 9-5 number to call but suspect no one will pick up! I will give it a try though.

The drop off desk is the front of a very busy hospital and think the receptionist won’t know what I’m talking about

Thanks Bekind-28 👍

Hi - it actually recorded all night and right up to the point I dropped it off at the hospital reception. I chatted to the ladies there and explained and I also wrote a note that is now in the box. They just said 'the cardiac team will pick it up and let you know'...

Hoping that it was only a short time that it wasn't recording. What was good though is I always have a dip into low 30's after breakfast and when I sit at my desk. SODS law would be that it didn't happen today but, like clockwork, it did!

I was told it might take a month for the results though!

Thanks for asking 👍

Hello :-)

Wrote a note did you say I tried to change the batteries in it :-D

Always the case when we want something to happen it never does but the moment we walk away then it happens !

We shall have to wait and see now what the verdict is might take them more than a month after you fiddled to work yours out :-D

Hope everything comes back ok though and let us know :-) x

I would definitely phone them. When I had a 24 hour holter monitor the electrodes kept coming off and wouldn't stick back on. It ended up only recording 8 of the 24 hours. Luckily they could diagnose from that and I didn't need to do it again but it was a weekend so I couldn't contact them.
