It’s great news My husband is coming home today to continue with his recovery.

That is such good news, every good wish to you both. As you received help and reassurance through this site you have done the same for me. Another 10 days and counting before my husband's bypass surgery and reading your posts, even the slight hiccup with fluid build up, has helped me so much. So thank you. I hope the journey to full recovery goes well.

Excellent news. The trick now is to ensure he doesn't try to do too much as recovery can be slow and is often two steps forward and 2 steps back.

Keeping a health diary might be useful as the setbacks on any one day can be seen against the general overall improvement over several days.

That's great news and this is such a good forum for getting reassurance from people who have been through the same. Coming out of hospital can be a bit daunting for the patient because they are away from the security of knowing nurses and doctors are there if needed but it's always good to be home in your own surroundings. All the best to you both and to your husband for a good recovery. Take care xx

That's brilliant news. He will recover better at home . With your love ,good food and plenty of cuddles. Plus you may have to nag him not to do too much 😁. Hopefully the sun will shine and you can get out for walks and your life will return to its usual pattern .

He's made a remarkable recovery after he's set backs after his operation.. Hope you both stay healthy and look to a bright future. 😊

Fantastic news as weepip says great to be back in your own bed and give lots of support especially on the dark days.

make sure he keeps cuddle towel with him( you hold it to your sternum helps the stress on the repair), you do not want to cough with out your new best friend ( got that tee shirt 😂) .

this is excellent news and the rehab really starts when you are home safe and comfortable. As many have said and I can attest first hand, don’t rush things, it will seem a lot to take in at first but each day there will be an improvement. Listen to your body and be prepared for needing lots of rest/sleep/naps.

I’m 3.5 weeks post surgery and with my dear wife nursing and supporting me I’ve come on really well. The advice on here is better than anything you can read in a book as it’s real world firsthand experiences. Take the time, build up slowly and you will get there in good time.

That's excellent news, thank you for letting us know. Tell your husband to take his convalescence easy, a bit more each day and rest when he needs too. Twelve weeks will fly by and you'll have a job slowing him down, I should know, I've just spent all morning chainsawing up logs for splitting! My back aches but my heart is fine.😁

So pleased to here your news stay positive and as others have said hubby may have off days and something to think about is his mental health which I never considered with my hubby but it has affected him after his triple bypass after heart attack march 2023
