Hi all you lovely people. Husband is now on the main cardiac ward walking round albeit he still has one drain in his lung. Surgeon is really pleased with his progress and we are hoping he will be home for next Monday.

Hello
You have titled your post worried update and yet sounds like he is doing really well
Sometimes we have to have these drains in a little longer but that is a good thing if needed they are making sure his lungs have no fluid on them and any that is there they are making sure it is drained of
His surgeon is happy with him which is good he is walking around and maybe home on Monday so I think this is a positive update
Hope you are not worrying and if you are try not to as things are looking good
Thank you for your update x
Glad things are going well.
Good news it takes time but he will get there I feel his pain I'm 3 1/2 months out myself 🙂
Good to hear he is doing well 🤞🤞he is home next Monday in his own bed. I was so relieved and happy to be in my own bed, hospital beds are so uncomfortable. Wishing him well in his recovery. Best wishes to you both take care 😊🌞X.
is it a drain in the chest or a vent machine i had both and vent machine was some thing to do with the gap between the lung and chest cavity. either way its standard practice wasn’t even uncomfortable , but properly look horrendous.
sound very promising that he will be home soon, tell him to take things one step at a time & not to get carried away. My cardiac nurse told me they have more issues with home patients over doing it from guilt complexes trying to ease the burden of there loved ones.
I know you’ll give him loads of love and support and make sure he attends the rehab course when it’s offered to him. It shocked me how many don’t take up this option.
Wonderful news and great to hear he's on track for home on Monday. I do hear recovery from this Op can be a rollercoaster ride. My best wishes to you both.
He seems to be progressing well so I have put your husband down for a Park Run of 5Km this Sunday and a Marathon on 1st October.
Brilliant news he is on the main ward and walking . The walking will help him get rid of the fluid. Fingers crossed that he will be home Monday . As home is always best and he will recover better there. 😊
Aaw I’m really pleased for you guys and thank you for posting this lovely news x
