Hi, I am wondering if anyone can share their experiences of stopping Nebivolol. I am on 2.5mg daily, have been for a year since heart attack. My consultant wants to swap it for something else (can't remember what it's called but it is not a beta blocker), and says it's fine just to swap over, without any tapering off of the Nebivolol. I read that there can be serious side effects of stopping Nebivolol suddenly, and I asked the consultant about that, but he said it was fine. Obvs I am sure he knows what he's doing, but I'm also a little worried about it. Has anyone stopped/swapped Nebivolol suddenly? How did it go? Thanks.

I was taken off nebivolol - no tapering off - caused no problem at all. Good luck
reactions to ceasing a drug can vary and, as you have noticed here, some people have side effects from withdrawal of beta-blockers (e.g. nebovilol, bispsrolol) but some people stop with no problem - you may be well advised to be prepared for this and taper off you nebovilol - pharmacists are the experts in drugs, I would seek advice from yours
