I have had a terrible week . Can't actually remember when it started but I have been feeling terrible with chest pain. I have microvascular angina . Going up and down stairs is killing me , even walking a short distance I need to use my spray. On Thursday I had such intense stabbing chest pain I seriously considered going to the hospital. I can barley do anything. The 40,000 neurons in my heart are miserable in so much agony.

Very sorry what's going on. Maybe going to the hospital is a good idea, they can better monitor you and adjust your treatment if necessary. I understand no one wants to go to the A&E, but sometimes you really just have to play it safe. Feel better.

Thank you mjames1 , yes I think I will go in the morning. I am in agony and just feeling so awful. But I won't go now because I have a fear of taking taxis in the night. Crazy I know.

I'm not from your country so not all that familiar how it works, but can't you just call for an ambulance? At least in the United States that's the best way to get into the emergency room quickly and without having to sit in the waiting room.

Yes I could call an ambulance but then I have to get back home from the hospital in the middle of the night.

I had to get home after discharge from A&E at 2 am in August - Uber runs 24hours - so not a problem I am widowed and I would not demand friends come at that hour.

Get checked out today - I was diagnosed with microvascular disease 25 years ago which turned into major vessel atherosclerosis 12 years ago and 3 vessels were diseased and needed treatment.

Thanks for your replies. I am not sure if I am going or not. I have an exhibition of my artwork to put up tomorrow. Its going to be a big day and going to the hospital is exhausting. Maybe I should just rest. I feel awful . Maybe I will go. I don't know yet.

Call 111 at least, they will ask lots of questions and send a paramedic, doctor or ambulance as relevant

A call could get you help faster or avoid a cab fair and long uncomfortable wait - your choice

Maybe try ringing 111 if in the UK and they can advise whether hospital is the right choice.

Hello Poppy

I am sorry you are going through a bad patch.

I don't like going into hospital either. I have had some poor experiences of care because the staff I have met just don't understand microvascular or vasospastic angina.

However like others have suggested at least call 111 for further advice?

You may need a review of your medication.

I hope you feel more at ease soon.

I would go to the hospital to get checked out but I have a big day tomorrow and I have to travel far and I am not willing to give up on it. If I go to the hospital today I won't have any energy and will be in more pain tomorrow.

My experience of ringing 111 is that they say they are sending an ambulance out straight away. They come along and do some tests that don't really give any answers and then drag you out to the hospital for blood tests. ( which is a good thing if I was willing to go)

I will probably just have an agonising day today and tomorrow and go to the gp or something on Tuesday.

Thanks for everybody's replies .

Hi Poppy,Perhaps a visit to the hospital would be a good idea? If nothing else, ot would pit your mind at rest. You would be assessed and monitored there a d given a y tests necessary. I know it's acdau ting thought but better safe than sorry. Good luck and I hope e tutting turns out well for you.

I know you do make sense but I have other plans!

Sometimes, other plans have to take a back seat when a health issue is causing you concern, though, surely.

Hope you are feeling better. I agree with some of the others comments - please get checked out. Getting checked over will hopefully at least give you some peace of mind.
