AF: Kardia mobile consultant has given a diagnosis. Anyone any idea how urgent this might be?

I use Kardia mobile to keep track of symptoms as my afib if not silent is certainly rather shy! I got a sinus rhythm with SVE whose R to R trace was distinctly odd and so opted for a £10 clinical report. It came back last night just before bed with a diagnosis junctions rhythm with 3rd degree heart block It says urgent as action point. Does anyone know if that means ring 111 our really effective call line for advice/ referral for emergency access or visit to A&E (I use Kardia mobile to keep track of symptoms as my afib if not silent is certainly rather shy! I don't know anything about Kardia really, but if in doubt ring 111 for advice. I don't think it would be unreasonable to ring 999 but if you aren't comfortable doing that then 111 is your option.

Thank you that is most reassuring as mention was made of another name for 3rd degree HB as total HB, which was really scary. Since then it turned into AF and then back to normal sinus rhythm ( with 1 or 2 ectopics in the trace even so). So I think in all probability Monday morning will be OK.

Apologies for the double paste that managed to insinuate itself into my post. I did try and delete the whole thing but failed in that too.

Was also incidentally diagnosed with AVNRT on the basis of 2 p-waves from a single scan seen online. Does that mean my AV node is already shot?

hi Lindy - it is worrying, isn’t it! I have no medical training, of course, but my advice would be to call 111 urgently for professional advice (and do not drive or use ladders etc in the meantime).

My 30 second complete heart block caused a blackout without warning and resulted in a pacemaker implant as an emergency within hours - we are all different, obviously, so our diagnoses will also be different and my experience is probably not the same as yours but it is worth putting your mind at rest by calling 111. Good luck 👍

Sorry, was not clear about the diagnosis. The AVNRT was diagnosed by a member of the hospital cardiac team from my initial ECG taken in the GP surgery. Also instructed me to drop blood thinners and then informed me that condition was not serious and I would be seen on or about Sept 2023. For various personal reasons, I dug my toes in and refused to stop the blood thinners. 4 months later I was rediagnosed with AF by the cardiac advice service available in Wales using Kardia mobile evidence. The Kardia has been accepted as a useful tool by NICE by the way.
