Although this is an app that deals with heart conditions why I joined initially I recently had an upper molar tooth removed and as a result l now keep biting my tongue.
Having re visited the dentist I was advised to see my GP who in turn said I need to see a dentist.
Can anyone advise me to whom I need to consult -for as you can imagine I suffer great discomfort and pain every time I eat .
Any suggestions would be welcome
Thank you

I would say this is the Dentist’s problem to sort out. If all was well before the tooth was removed then obviously, that’s the cause. It’s caused your bite to be very different if it’s catching your tongue. I can’t understand what he thought the GP could do. Good Luck!
Hi, I feel your pain! I had a top molar removed as it had split But was pain free… from the moment it was removed I had nothing but pain and it turned out to be a dry socket…But my tongue on that side has been so sore.. my dentist just said not seen nothing like it… so I have tried everything from rinsing with salt water, more mouth wash and dental gel on it.. 8 weeks later I am still trying to make it better, even went to the doctor who checked all and said there is no infection so no antibiotics needed. I have found that if I cut out all fruit and veg especially oranges and tomatoes that it does ease and as silly as it sounds Try and open your mouth more as it does seem to relax the tongue a little. I also stopped all lotions and potions and only use a Bicarbonate toothpaste and my tongue feels a little better now. Good Luck!
