I take 40mg atorvastatin and 176 fenofibrates together and have some pain too from time to time but I noticed that the pain is more strong when I think of it.I know sounds ridiculous but when I don't think I might have pain from statins I feel almost no pain...sometimes brain is strange

There is a very interesting book called The Expectation Effect, written by David Robson, who is an award-winning scientific journalist. It explores the effect the brain has on our body and physical health. One of the things it covers is that if you start taking medication and expect side-effects, you will probably experience them, but if you take it with a positive viewpoint that the drugs are going to do you good, you probably won't. Please understand that I'm in no way saying that your pain is 'all in your mind', but you raised an interesting point and I wanted to comment on it.

I'm happy to see other people are interested in this topic, some of my friends laughed at me and tbh I laughed with them too...but in time these became more obvious, and I started to pay more attention at my simptoms and they tend to appear when I'm worried about side effects of my statins...when I'm relaxed and don't think at them, I have almost no pain, sometimes I even feel perfect..Sorry english is not my first language

It doesn't sound ridiculous to me. I have arthritis and tinnitus. When I go to bed and have no visual or audible stimulus the Tinnitus seems very loud and I notice pain in my joints that haven't bothered me during the day. For me, it's a matter of keeping the brain occupied so I listen to an audiobook on a 30 minute timer when I go to bed and I'm almost always asleep before it ends.

During the day, when I'm at home, I try to keep busy with things that engage my brain, I love Sudoku puzzles, History books, Detective Novels, Music and so on, so I can keep my brain occupied almost continuously.
