Hi. I can’t take bisoprolol at all. After three days I am climbing the walls with anxiety. It had the same effect of my mum. Perhaps speak to GP to see if there is another beta blocker available. I’m sensitive to them. Good luck.

Morning, my partner was prescribed sertraline for his anxiety when he was diagnosed with a leaking heart valve, it took about a month or so for him to adjust to it and start to feel better but once he did he's tolerated it well and it has really helped him. He was on it for just over a year until he had his surgery in January 2024 and since then has also been on bisoprolol and again he's tolerating it, hasn't experience any side effects - I'm sorry to hear that others have suffered with side effects but thought it important to let you know it's not the same for everyone. Before this he wasn't on any medications and was anti it, but now he realises that it is for the best and has helped him. Make the best decision for yourself under your GPs guidance, don't let possible side effects scare you off, you may not have them. I wish you all the best.

Hi. I am on 1.25mg Bisoprolol and find it keeps me calm, if not zombified!Going to seek a second opinion to see if theres something more suitable as Bisoprolol makes me feel extremely fatigued. I take it at night to try to minimise side effects but to no avail.

Same here, also on 1.25mg and take at night but still fatigued and low resting heart rate of low 40's. Hopefully get to chat to doc in next couple days to see about alternative or maybe even stop..

I had a friend who was prescribed Bisoprolol and started feeling suicidal a few days later; needless to say he stopped taking it. That may be an extreme reaction but it can be bad stuff, and there are plenty of alternatives.

Hi Medicalappointments. I was put on Metoprolol first for my afib, and the dose was rather high. Had anxiety and could not sleep very well. Then was put on 5 mg. dose of Bisoprolol after stopping the metoprolol, I have been relatively fine with it. I have gained maybe a little weight, about an extra 8 or so lbs. , but the trade off is a bit better sleep and somewhat less anxiety.
