Does anyone know of this. I have CHF. Lot of ectopic beats . Lungs clear of fluid but show swollen arteries on lungs.

I can go walking earlier in day np.then be sitting down gasping for air. Pulse increases .oxygen levels too but I feel more and more like I'm going to suffocate..

Any help please or similar stories

I'd call 111 for this if you feel like you can't breathe, and keep ar your GP to get a specialist to see you.

Yes I'm getting a lot of it looks like a panic attack due to the O2 being fine .the pulse raises and my oxygen is better than usual but suffocating feeling worsens. I'm getting lot of ectopic beats too.

Just a thought, have you noticed if the feeling is brought on by sitting or lying a certain way?

I feel like this sometimes if I've been sitting back or lying on my back or left hand side - it normally gets better sitting forward and I've trained myself to sleep on my right.

Hi thx for your reply . Yes before I had a heart attack is my favourite reply so far but yours is most helpful thx . No doubt yours is due to too many fish fingers but tbh I do find when I'm moving I'm fine it happens when I sit on couch. So by not doing anything it gets worse and worse which makes sleeping kinda awkward lol. Does your O2 stay ok while you're breathless ?

Yes i felt like this before i dropped down with heart attack/severe hwart failure

Hi Jaytyson

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been feeling unwell and that sounds scary!

Personally, I can’t say that I’ve experienced feeling like I’m going to suffocate but I do get episodes where I’m woken in the middle of the night, feeling like I had stopped breathing or I couldn’t breathe properly. It comes with a racing heart and pounding feeling in my chest amongst other things.

I would echo what Captain_Birdseye has said though and ring 111 next time it happens.

It might help to keep a diary and log the time of day and your symptoms to see whether there are any patterns? Then you can take it with you to your next review.

Let us know how you get on.

Best wishes
