Bit of a mystery going on, few weeks ago the vein in my neck, not the jugular, the vein just above the collar bone, right side came up like a balloon, everytime I attempted a n activity the vein would balloon up, with intense pressure in the neck and came very close to passing out got so bad I phoned 111 and was advised to go to A&E, doc saw the vein swelling, had obs done, CT Scan to check my vascular system, all clear, they were confused as to what it could be , my vein still continues to swell, has anyone experienced this?, my ejection fraction is 28%, not sure if there could be a connection.

sorry you’ve got this going on. I can’t help you with it as I haven’t experienced this but keep an eye on it and go see your GP if it gets worse. Hope it goes back to normal soon x

Hi I don’t know when you’re next seeing your cardiologist or heart failure nurse, if you have one, but I think you should mention it to them. If not see your Gp.

When my heart function suddenly went to 10% I began getting a terrible pain on the right side of my neck. It felt like it was throbbing. I had an echocardiogram done and they went on my neck and became worried.

It might not be the same but someone needs to find out what’s causing that as it’s not normal.

All the best and let us know how you got on.

I couldn’t breathe and eat I felt really full all the time and had fluid retention. That’s when my EF dropped to 10%.
