I had a heart attack, (NSTEMI) in August 23. I had a stent and was put on standard medication, plus went through cardiac rehab with good results. But I'm not over it. I go dancing regularly, walk as much as possible and rest when I need to. My GP recently adjusted the dose of bisprolol (doubled to 5mg) because I had difficulty catching my breath sometimes.
In hospital, the heart scan showed no damage, and Troponin levels were 50 or so, so I had thought the HA not too damaging.
Should I be back to my previous energy levels by now? Should I ask for my meds to be reviewed? Should I just accept my lower pace of life?
I'm reading a lot of really positive life stories on here from folk with various heart issues. I'm a natural optimist, nearly 69, and I'd prefer to be one of them!

Sorry to hear about your heart attack that took place last year.
Every individual is different, so we will recover at different paces. It sounds like to me it might be worthwhile contacting your GP and just mentioning that you are concerned about your symptoms and whether they could carry out further investigations to rule out anything that they may have missed or if something else is going on. When attending the appointment with your GP, also ask for a medication review as you’ve already suggested. Some medications have side effects and something you take may also be causing this.
I would definitely ask to be referred to your local cardio team. My husband had a cardiac arrest 2 years ago was gone for 13 minutes, 4 shocks induced coma for 2 days and then a stent put in.
He was home within a week and back to normal straight away.
You sound like you are pretty fit, so may need to be checked out again in case there is any damage to the heart, or may need some more medication to help you.
I had a HA back in 2004. It took me a good year to get over it. Your heart is a muscle that needs to repair itself. Unlike say a leg muscle you can’t rest your heart so sometimes it does take a bit longer. Just keep up your exercise, don’t smoke and watch your food. You’ll soon be back to your usual self
I had a cardiac arrest 13 months ago, I've excelled at the rehab, doing plenty of gym work now and really quite fit, but I still get the odd days that are not so good. I have 3 very good friends who suffered HA, all 3 told me it would be around a year before I was back to 'normal' I think they got that bang on. So you're still on your recovery, keep positive and keep all the new good habits, including regular check-ups going, you'll get there.
