Has anyone got experience taking this supplement and having heart disease/failure? Is it safe to take alongside heart meds? Did you see any improvements since taking this supplement?

I tried it but it gave me indigestion type symptoms. My cardiologist also recommended it and I am on the usual heart medication

I take coQ10 along with other supplements such as magnesium, d-ribose and l carnitine. I have no clue if it is helping, and my cardiologists don’t believe it will, but they also say it won’t do any harm so I keep taking them just in case there is a benefit.

Hello there, yes I take Co Enzyme Q10 this was suggested by my cardiac rehabilitation nurse, I also take Magnesium, Zinc and Multi B vitamins all checked with the pharmacist first. They are compatible with my heart medication. Take care ☺️

I've been taking Q10, on and off, for the last couple of years. Haven't noticed any benefits and it's quite expensive! I've read that it can help some people who experience muscle pain as a result of taking a Statin.

I have been taking Q10 for years, it is something that most people need, if you look at HealthSpan website, there will probably be more info.

My heart failure nurse told me she didn't recommend me taking it, as there was no official medical evidence that it wouldn’t affect my heart medication, as it is a supplement rather than a prescribed medication, which I was surprised about, as I'd read that it was a great for the heart.

Hi, prior to his heart issues my husband took it to alleviate muscle pains from his statins. He noticed almost immediate improvement. When he had his cardiac stents he had to stop taking the Q10 as it was not advised to take it alongside the Clopidogrel which he had to take for the following 12 months ( I don’t know exactly why, I think it wasn’t supposed to react well together for some reason). He went back on the Q10 after the 12 months was up and felt much better for it.

Currently he’s off them again after having 2 heart attacks just over 12 months ago. He’s finished the Clopidogrel and is now on Edoxaban ongoing. We’re just trying to ascertain now if he can go back on to the Q10 again as well as any other supplements as he really notices the difference in his muscle aches when he does take it.

Interested also to hear others responses to your question.

I wish you all the very best. D x

my cardiologist said won’t hurt, likely won’t help . Hinted it’s a waste of money
