So many people have this problem ( me too) and I was so worried initially. I’m more relaxed now. If you’re an NHS patients it’ll take a while to get sorted as they don’t really class this as urgent. They may do a 72 hr telemetry after you have an ECG to see the extent of the irregularity then perhaps an echocardiogram for a more detailed picture. Try not to worry it’s important to try to stay relaxed. You may be put on a beta blocker if your doc thinks it’s necessary. I started with this problem in Nov and haven’t had an echo yet!!

hiya I have had a slow irregular heart for at least 20 years but also been under a Cardiologist for 20 years who screens my symptoms yearly by a 24 hour tape and heart scan. Unfortunately for me I have a cardiac gene for the cause of mine. I am now in AF 24/7 these last 6 months and recently commenced blood thinners. I have no symptoms really apart from I get a tight chest like an elephant sitting on my chest but I get that if anxious also. An EVG will not always show AF as an ECG is showing what your heart doing at the second. Depending on your results your GP needs to get a cardiology opinion for screening to put your mind at rest. AF is the most common slow irregular heart beat.. it might even be that you’re having numerous amounts of ectopic beats that can slow your heart rate which again can be normal. You can also have a slow heart rate if you’re an athlete. Try not to worry, hopefully your GP has it all in hand.
