I have had all tests done and will meet surgeon next week. (AVR) Just wondering how soon after meeting surgeon did others have surgery?

It depends on what you are having done, whether you are classed as urgent or routine, and what NHS Trust you belong to, since some Trusts are better than others regarding waiting times. In short it could be weeks or months. The best indication you will get is to ask at the end of your appointment and the consultant will give you an estimate, but even that is never particularly accurate in my experience.
Hello
As said it all does depend I was classed as urgent and from speaking to the Surgeon I had a triple Bypass it was 3 months
Ask when you meet them and let us know how you get on x
Last year, after several months of tests, the surgeon asked if I wanted to wait for a while before having a TAVI (suggesting that I wasn't that serious), and when I said to press ahead he registered me with a West London hospital where he would operate. He said that the waiting time was three months. When I made contact with the hospital, the nurse said more like six months and on the day of admission I would need to ring after midday to see if there was a bed available ... The John Radcliffe in Oxford advised there was a three-month waiting time for an NHS op, two weeks for a private one with the same team ... I switched to the John Radcliffe, though it didn't offer the pre- and post-op remote monitoring that the West London one did.
Bizarrely I was able to walk for seven hours a week before the op, so I guess it wasn't that urgent. The original hospital's pre-op remote monitoring, though well meaning, soon began to almost irritate. Each Monday I was expected to fill in an online questionnaire about how I felt and to respond to a nurse asking the same questions by telephone. And the thought did not appeal of being ready to leave home, with friends poised to support, only to be told there was no bed. (I know far worse happens: a friend had her knee op postponed, then on the second occasion was gowned and waiting to be taken into the theatre, only to be told that the team had run of time. And her journey to the hospital was more demanding than mine and she had limited support and mobility.)
Surgeon seen in April, surgery in August
saw surgeon in May - operation in January. Definitely depends what your condition is. Was told that there are fewer surgeons for some conditions even if severe hence the wait.
I waited 1 year for valve replacement open heart, hope that's not the case for you.goid luck
At the consultation I was told that the waiting list was 2 to 3 months. However I had surgery 1 months after meeting the surgeon. It was not in the general hospital but I was placed as NHS patient in the private hospital with the surgeon I met at the pre operative assessment.
5 weeks including over Christmas & New Year.
