For me it tends to be like that too. I'm on ramipril 5mg and coracten XL. I take the ramipril last thing at night and the coracten in the morning. Used to do it the other way around but found that I got up the loo three or four times per night- not prostate issues I don't think- I'm a light sleeper and struggled to get back to sleep It's slightly counterintuitive as I do a fair amount of sport during the day, when I might need the ramipril to be working but seems overall to work for me.

Hi if you’re taking it in the morning maybe by the evening it’s beginning to wear off hence the rise and also it could be the pressures of the day. You’re on a low dose. I’m on 10mg for Afib, mine is always very low the diuretics and other meds keep mine low also.

You don’t say if it’s too high or it’s just higher. If it’s too high take your readings to your doctor.

All the best

the reason i am taking 1.25 bisopropol because i,ve have altrium Fibrillation and the doctor said it was high ,and for me to take my own blood pressure for a week and then see what he says.

Do you mean atrial fibrillation (AF) or (Afib), because I’ve never heard of altrium fibrillation, that’s why I take it and mine is persistent, I also have to take anticoagulants to prevent clots.

i meant atrial fibrillation ,was diagnosed with 2018 never gave me anything at the time ,because i rarely noticed it , but now it become more noticeable over the past 3 weeks , thats why they put me on bisoprolol, past 6 weeks been really stressed out withwork and things in my life.

You haven't said what your BP actually is, if at both times its within normal range then its ok, bisoprolol with me made my pulse go to 60 and under

For me - and I've taken my blood pressure spasmodically over the past years, with no meds, pregnancy, angina, various meds (more / less, inc bisopropil) and it's nearly always been higher in the evenings than mornings. In the morning you're (hopefully) more rested and have been horizontal - by evening time you've been on your feet (hopefully) for a good portion of the day, and naturally pressure goes up. At the moment I've a relatively low BP 110/75 in the mornings - maybe 125/80-84 evening time. The other day I lifted a 20kg sack of corn and half an hour later my BP was more like 145/95! It didn't cause me concern, my heart (with stent) felt fine - by evening it was back down. It may be worth asking your doc/heart team what difference is ok, perhaps there's one that is a red flag?

It's normal for your BP is to be higher in the evening than the morning as by the evening the medication is starting to leave your system. My husband's BP is usually 80's/50's in the morning/afternoon but is around 98/67 in the evening (he takes lots of medication) So long as your BP is within normal range and you have no symptoms, dizziness etc then it shouldn't be a problem but do mention it to your GP who hopefully will put your mind at ease.

I,ve bee taken 1.25 bisoprolol for 2 days then they up it to 2.5 but then i was starting to get strong dizziness and feel weird for a few minutes spells the third time i had the attack had to call an ambulance , when they came they checked everything and said eveything was okay they took me to hospital and they said everything was ok and suggested to go back to just taken 1.25 dose, told the local doctor he said okay but wanted me to take my own blood pressure test for severn days ,just started doing it seems high but i feel okay and have not had any weird feelings yet.Been on Bisoprolol 10 days since being told to take it.

It may be a case of increasing the dosage too soon for you. If you need the higher dose then perhaps it could be increased gradually maybe every other day to begin with, my husband is very meds intolerant and has often had to have his meds increased on a gradual basis. You could also ask your GP if you could take the bisoprolol in the evening, that might help to alleviate symptoms. Good idea to monitor your BP for a week but I would suggest you sit down and rest for about 5 mins before taking it and then take it 3 times with a break of a few mins (5 mins?) between each time. Hopefully that'll help with the stress it causes and will give you an average of your BP range.I hope it works for you

thanks i do get nervous when taking it

It's quite usual to be nervous. And if we see a high reading it stresses us even more & that in turn increases our blood pressure, it's a bit of a vicious circle, hopefully taking it 3 times with a short break in between will help with that.

Take your time when you do your BP readings, it's a pain I know, but get comfy, put the cuff on, then sit for another 5 mins. It's really natural for BP to change a lot during the day. I have to keep an eye on my BP at home as I have extreme white coat syndrome, mad really as I don't get nervous in those situations.

Ask your GP for a target blood pressure, they will calculate what is appropriate for you.

I actually feel better when my BP is well controlled, and the monitor and pills are just tools to do the job as efficiently as possible.

I'm on the same dose of Bisoprolol, and have come to regard it as my friend. I've also just restarted Perindopril, another friend but an ace inhibitor. Bisoprolol I take in the morning, Perindopril an hour before my evening meal, it works for me.

Please forgive any spelling mistakes, it's not that I can't spell but the keys are too close together, and the cataracts mean I don't always notice.

Blood pressure is influenced by our circadian rhythm (when we want to sleep). Blood pressure can peak midday and evening before going down as we prepare to sleep. Everyone will vary slightly. I’m on Bisoprolol too but take 2.5mg in the morning.

I think heart related health conditions naturally make us more anxious which causes higher blood pressure.
