I feel like life is getting back to normal, still have odd moments ( more medicine/confidence related).
Started running then stopped as my knee injury came back from years ago. So will try something else.
Back to getting fit ( but more mindful about it), love meditation, enjoy my beers on weekends ( again within strict units), have naughty treats, go to theatre with wife and daughter, back to gardening, BUT most of all just appreciate the journey, from the dark days, the lows, thinking the worst, feeling the worst to now being a new version of myself which I'm learning to like.
Met some amazing people at cardio rehab who have shown me what determination delivers, and these people are 15 to 20 years older then me and still kicking ass!!
I don't post much, but I do hope what I did post gives folks some help.
I Will still drop in, but to all out there stay positive, positive is your friend, and for any journey no matter how difficult it's all one step at a time, the steps can be as big or small, slow or fast as you like, but make the steps.
Also a huge huge thanks to this place, it's been my rock.

Hi baly_23, an amazing post and amazing positive attitude, you've certainly cheered me up. Wishing you all the best for the future. Looking forward to another post at a later date. Best wishes to your wife and daughter too. Take care (loved the photos) x
Great post and really encouraging. It so important to maintain a positive attitude. I’m 14 weeks since my HA and having had no previous history, found coming to terms with the shock/reality of it the hardest thing. So I have embraced the cardio rehab classes and just started the continuation in phase 4. Life is pretty much back to normal but I’m having to work hard at keeping the discipline of a healthy lifestyle and maintaining a level of self-confidence and belief that it won’t all happen again. So I decided to embrace it and volunteer to join the local cardio rehab team and hopefully encourage and support others. At nearly 70 I work part time and could think of no better way to use some of my spare time.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻 Fantastic 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Really pleased for you buddy , keep chipping away . It’s not always linear but when we look back it’s amazing at the progress . Loving life too. 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Lovely reading this post with its positivity and enthusiasm which I believe go a long way to aiding recovery. Having any sort of heart event is daunting and can be a real struggle for some and I think you've hit the nail on the head in showing how you can embrace a new 'normal'. I hope you continue with your steps forward in your recovery and also continue to enjoy and discover. All the best x
I think the embracing a new start is an excellent phrase to use. I’ve struggled since my HA mentally but posts like this give me a kick up the ass. I just keeping saying to myself “Embrace the new start and chance you’ve been given and live your life.” It’s certainly helped me and reading all the positive replies helps as well.
Baly_2023 I think you and I had a heart attack at the sane time. Mime was 21st November so 20 weeks tomorrow. I too have pictures like yiu of all the amazing things that I have done since then and I absolutely echo all the feelings and things you said in your post. For all you wonderful people out there who are having a low day..take a breath..relax and know brighter days will come...
