broad complex tachycardia diagnosis

hi

I had ann episode of tachycardia last

June ( 135 bpm). It went after 2 hours and I felt fine .

However I did feel that I ought to get a check up after my holiday in September as didn’t feel quite right.

ECG was normal , thyroid level raised so thyroxine dose was reduced and I felt a million dollars .

I had a 24hr ECG done at the end of January and received the results yesterday after a cardiologist reviewed it .

It shows “ broad complex intermittent tachycardia on ambulatory monitoring”.

? Aberrant conduction , but they need to rule out ventricular involvement .

I am totally shocked by this as I am very active and not overweight . I don’t smoke and drink a little .

I need an echocardiogram to check LV function . I was a nurse for years so realise the implications of VT . Any aduvexwoukd be welcome as I am seeing the end of my life in sight at 66yrs old .

Sorry to hear your diagnoses and how you feel. Wait until you get the results of the Echo.

I have non sustained VTs and Afib and have had it for years. You sound quite healthy whereas I have dilated cardiomyopathy and heart function of 23%. I have a CRT-D device fitted. Mine don’t last long for me to get shocks, but I’m told the device deals with them. Try not to worry too much, I know it’s easier said. Where the heart is concerned there’s always something that can be done.

More than 5 yrs ago my heart function was 10%. Don’t give up. Let us know how you get on after your echo results. All the best.
