Hiya Hearties,
Forgot to say before, my consultant has put me through a Cardiac Stress MRI with Contrast. This showed a few things, firstly good flow around the heart, so no appreciable new stenosis or narrowing of the main pipes...yaaay. Secondly, a slightly improved EF up to 41% from 38%...yaaay
and thirdly, scarring throughout the RCA territory....booo. So I've not exactly come away scot free so to speak, but the alternative...well?
It was a calculated decision after lots of consults and readings to come off the beta blocker and I'm seeing my GP later this month to review how I'm doing...and so far so good. BP today was 111/71 and 110/70, really pleased with this and resting HR up to 55. I've noticed the old ticker does come up a bit more rapidly but not overly so, again need time to get used to the new me...again!
Thanks to all who've taken the time to reply & I've tried to reply back, sorry if I've missed anyone.
Bisoprolol seems to be quite a talking point, it's a powerful med & everyone seems to be on different doses & for varying reasons...mine was for future protection & was a difficult decision to try this. I fully intend to stay on the Ramipril, statin & aspirin, as I feel these will provide good protection for me going forward. I have permanent scarring around my heart and have mild impairment. My job is to stay as fit as I'm able, eat sensibly and take my meds, but with care not to over do it, listen to your body, it'll tell you if you made a booboo, and boy we all know how that feels!
I do see a time in the future when I will probably go back on a beta blocker & I'll be keeping a close watch on myself in the meantime.
Keep well all...parting thought -
