all in the eyes?

this maybe an odd question.

For about a year prior to my heart attack I had a very odd feeling in my right eye. Like it was infected … but it wasn’t. A bit watery. Drifted in and out of focus. Felt a bit pressured.

About the time stents we’re fitted (hard to be 100% sure exactly a few months on) the feeling stopped.

All good. Didn’t really think about it.

Till the eye started up again this week.

could this be an indicator of problems?

Anyone had anything similar?

Thirteen months ago I went to my GP concerned about a bulging sensation in one eye, especially when I bent over - and also about discomfort in my chest. The GP immediately diagnosed a dodgy heart valve and we agreed to leave the eye problem until the valve situation had been sorted out (several scans followed). By June I was more concerned about my eye and went to eye casualty (when I arrived there was only one other person there). They referred me to an out-sourced ophthalmologist, who saw me two working days later. He found nothing wrong, but referred me for (another) scan, which I had at 0825 on a Sunday morning at a deserted hospital (eerie!) twelve miles away. This also showed nothing wrong.

I had a new heart valve fitted in mid-July, since when the "bulging eye" has not returned.

In 2017 I was putting on my make up and noticed a very slight smudge-like on paper when a soft pencil line has been erased- nothing more, it was still there a day or so later-didn't notice it in normal everyday activities, so when I mentioned it to my other half, off to A&E then appointment the next day at eye emergency(!) where a BRVO was diagnosed- (branch retinal vein occlusion- a blocked vein behind the retina.)

At around the same time I went to A&E one night with a heart rate of 155 and was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, and I was also already taking meds for higher BP than should be-I was 72 then. The AF was due to low potassium, and I reverted after a shot into my tummy. All this is to say, I now have to have monthly injections into my eye for the BRVO, am on blood thinners for the AF and still take BP meds! Most things, if analysed are connected!

Not quite the same but for a year prior to a HA and having stents, I had really dry and painful eyes. Was under the hospital who were considering what to do -something about scraping the cornea? Once I had the HA and stents fitted the pain in my eyes completely disappeared and the dryness has mostly gone. I believe that lack of oxygen from block arteries cause all sorts of issues. When I look back at all the things that the wrong pre-stent e.g bad eyes, blue toes, headaches, whooshing in ears, breathlessness, coughing, freezing feet, hair on body not growing, swollen hands when walking etc all gone after stenting! Was like a miracle!

you could try seeing an optician locally, they might be able to offer advice and point you towards a source of help - most will see you quickly if you are willing to wait a short while
