My GP is switching me from 80mg Atorvastatin to 10mg Ezetimibe due to muscle cramps in my feet. I have been taking 600mg Coenzyme Q10 to help counteract the cramps. Would I need to continue this while on the Ezetimibe? Does it have a similar action of stripping the coq10 from our cells or is it now unnecessary.
TIA

Studies suggest that taking Ezetimibe does not decrease CoQ10 levels in the way that statins can do you shouldn't need to replace Q10.CoQ10 shouldn't be used with Warfarin.
If you aren't on Warfarin you might want to continue taking CoQ10 for the first few weeks to a month of taking Ezetimibe if you think your Q10 levels are low but it isn't necessary.
