I went to hospital for cardiologist 3 weeks ago. They detected that my aortic regurgitation has currently moved to moderate stage. 13 years ago, I have had a Ross Konno procedures. Anyone had a Ross Konno procedures but later discovered problems with your heart leaky via aortic regurgitation what kind of ops/surgery/treatment did you had?
I still get head spinning not frequently, but wheres that came from? Chest pains possibly from aortic valve.
I look forward to hear your experience.

Hi Welshlady82 sorry to hear your aortic regurgitation has progressed, does this mean that you will need more surgery? I have bicuspid aortic valve severe aortic regurgitation and moderate stenosis so will eventually need valve replacement surgery. Never heard of the procedure you had? How long was this procedure meant to last. I had one 13 years ago a balloon valvotomy and it was supposed to last about 5 years and 13 years later and I'm still ok so that's good, I think these procedures to do cause some kind of leakage of the valve but Im probably wrong. Hope you don't need more surgery though x
Yes, it will be mean another surgery (3rd) but this time it will be an invasive surgery rather than an open chest surgery.
Ross Konno can last 15, 20 or 25 years but it varies on each patients. I had this kind surgery since Sept 2011. So, its 13 years for me. Hopefully, I can last another 7 years or more!
Yes, you are right that these procedures can cause a leakage.
When i do have my valve replacement that will be my 3rd surgery, 1st one was when I was a day old second I was 13 x glad your surgery lasts 20 years my first surgery coarctation repair end to end anastomosis supposed to last 25 years and I'm 26 now so hopefully I can go bit longer not needing any surgery 😉x
Strange, I had an open chest surgery at aged 2.5 due to heart murmur. Roll on, at aged 29 for a Ross Konno (2nd surgery) . It was bit shock for me especially before turning 30! It was a bit surreal journey but hospital saved my life. They do have an amazing surgeons out there.
