Bisoprolol 1.25 Morning or Night

I have just been prescribed Bisoprolol 1.25 to help with my anxiety that does raise my BP - to try it for two weeks.

It makes me so tired I wondered if I could take it at night not first thing in the morning? All the on line advise says take it in the morning but does not say why.. wondered if anyone else takes it at night and if it would cause too much of an issue - thanks in advance :-)

Hello :-)

I take 2.5mg but I do take them for my heart

I suffer with severe anxiety but have not noticed they have made any difference regarding my anxiety but they do help my heart rate as well as my BP

I have to take mine in a Morning but I also take another BP medication at night so to take them both at night would no doubt make my BP go to low

I would maybe try your pharmacist first where you get your repeats from as they have a record of what you take etc and ask them if it would be ok to take them at night they maybe able to answer you they may tell you to ask your Doctor

Bisoprolol does come with the side effect though of making you feel tired but in most cases you have to weigh up the benefits against the negatives in my case the benefits of taking the med outweigh this feeling of been tired even though I know it can be a struggle feeling this way :-)

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Hello I take it for my heart morning and night but I did notice straight away that my anxiety almost disappeared, I feel so much calmer and friends even commented on my change so it must be making a difference to me 😊

Hello :-)

I wonder if it is because you are taking it Morning and Night ?

Whatever the reason I am really pleased it has helped you with your anxiety that is really positive :-) x

Yes 1.25 mg is the starting dose for a lot of people. If you scroll down you will see it can be used to balance a bigger dose over the day hope that helps.

Hi I take 1.25mg every morning, been on it 16 months , I was told if it makes you tired after a few weeks of taking it then to take it at night rather than the morning. I've had no issues with it personally

My Bisoprolol was increased yesterday from 7.5mg to 10mg . I was told to take 1.25 morning 7.5 around Lunch and the remaining 1.25 at Night. I don't notice any major fatigue issues !

I walk around 3 miles a day, everyday.

Hello Spudly22.

My dose for the ticker was 2.5 mg in a morning. It didn't seem to worsen fatigue, but did seem to cause other side-effects. I can't say that it helped my anxiety. Your body might need a little more time to get used to the drug. If the problem persists, though, do speak to your pharmacist or GP.

My heart failure nurse said its OK to take at it night to help with the tiredness. I take 1.25 tablet at night and it seems to help cut down the tiredness side effect.Good luck

thank you everyone appreciate your support. I would find it impossible to continue on them in the morning as I feel jet lagged .. how strange as such a low dose. I will stop taking them for a few days and restart at night but I feel with the length of time o feel exhausted after taking re tablet ir won’t make that much difference .. my other option is to half the tablet .. 😴
