Hi,

I’m 37 and just been told I have Mobitz 1. Well, I had a holter ECG and it’s showed up on there where my pause lasted for 3 seconds. I’m actually in the midst of dry January and I’d ran 60 mile this month so it came like a bolt out of the blue. I’ve had two fainting episodes, one which was 7 year ago and the other came at Christmas just gone.

I’m really struggling with it as I’m a long time anxiety sufferer and generally tended more towards cardiac. I’m really struggling to function with it and my anxiety is now 100 times worse and I feel like the palpitations are as bad as I’ve ever felt.

I suppose I’m looking for reassurance as I’m being referred and waiting to see a cardiologist.

I’m up for making lifestyle changes which I’d already started to do - but will this mean I can’t drink alcohol anymore? Going running? Play golf?

Any advice help or anyone reflect on a similar experience?

Thanks

Hi, i have had a Mobitz 1 diagnosed since 2016. Unless it progresses from stage 1 - you are fine to excercise and carry on as normal. If you get more symptoms though go back to the docters.

Not medical advice, opinions and suggestions only.

Mobitz 1 is generally well managed, and not thought to be an issue of a seriousness nature. The prognosis is good and most people live a completely normal life, please rest your anxiety, The heart is quite scary as its supporting all the other organs, but in time you will come to accept the situation, please seek help if this doesn't settle down.

Please check for any other underlying condition such as myocarditis, endocarditis that may be causing your condition.

Mobitz 1 is an electrical impulse issue, are you at an optimal weight, exercise regularly, and eat lots of vegetables daily? If yes then getting either fitter probably won't resolve the situation, it may do but its unlikely.

What allows the heart signals to travel through the heart and it's muscles are minerals, ensure you have adequate, calcium, magnesium and zinc, all are important in the heart, don't overdo the Calcium or you will end up causing blockages in your coronary arteries, no more then 500 mg a day from hydroxyapatite sources, magnesium and zinc you can go to the higher doses of. Apart from this there is not much that can be done, but your prognosis is excellent so do not stress yourself. Get a full spectrum blood test to look at vitamins and minerals.

Also suggest a CAC scan just to check on the general condition of your heart, but most likely it will be fine, nothing to overthink.

Anxiety and stress can mimic heart conditions around the chest, so its important to understand that and work out which ones are affecting you.
