Has anyone else experienced their gums bleeding slightly for no apparent reason after taking heart medication for a few weeks? I’m sure it’s down to the thinners but very strange.

Bleeding Gums
Funnily enough I have just started getting this. I had my HA at the beginning of March this year just before lockdown and I have just started getting this symptom. I did get the occasional bleed before but with the thinners it just seems to gush out. I spoke to the doctor yesterday and he has said it is normal but to consider careful flossing and teeth brushing after each meal to make sure nothing gets stuck. I have been doing this and it has reduced from 4-5 times a day to only bleeding once a day so hopefully this is working.
Good luck
Hi. Yes my gums bleed terrible at night when sleeping. Had dental check up in February and they saw nothing wrong and suggested that the meds where to blame. Will be hoping for a change at my August reviews
Sometimes after flossing it looks like a scene out of Reservoir Dogs.
Mine did when I cleaned my teeth but not otherwise
I did have this problem at the start of taking the medication, it seems to have settled down now. Long may that last.
This response may be unrelated to your particular circumstances. However, my occasional bleeding gums were cured by vitamin C and co q10, which I still take regularly.
Not complicated by blood thinners now but even over 12 weeks blood thinners there was no bleeding.
