Virtual Wards

I have just spent a few days in the virtual ward where you are treated at home as an in patient, freeing up beds, the comfort of your own home such a positive with a great team of nurses. I take a large amount of medication that needed assessment including steroids affecting my blood sugar and heart failure tablets causing low blood pressure and high pulse rate, causing dizziness, breathlessness nausea and headaches. A couple of hours after taking the meds I am wiped out, any one had these problems?

What will they think of next. I'd never heard of a virtual ward, but it is well known in hospitals that patients recover quicker at home. I welcome anything that will keep me out of hospital as I have white coat syndrome.

It sounds great, but surely you must get some hands-on care, procedures etc.? Do you get nurses/Drs visiting?

Sounds like a brilliant idea to me, I hate hospitals so staying at home but have a nurse come and visit sounds great
