hi everyone, I have a diagnosis of an irregular heart beat and am under investigation by the cardiologist as my symptoms suddenly changed for the worse earlier this year. Finding it hard to find anyone else who has heart issues and low blood pressure. Anyone out there with similar?

Hello :-)

I am sorry no one seems to have replied as yet maybe your post has not been seen as members have logged on as I have read posts with members having the same issues as you do

As they do the investigations they will find the right treatment for you so feel confident that they have picked this up and you are now starting the process of getting it sorted :-)

Let us know how you get on :-) x

thank you for your response - I was thinking I’d done something wrong as I’ve never been on a forum before and i’m not good with tech🤪. On the posts I’ve been looking at everyone seems to have high blood pressure with their heart issues. I’ve got naturally low blood pressure which has made it harder to get meds to suit me as they all seem to be aimed at reducing blood pressure!?

Hello :-)

No you have done nothing wrong :-)

There are quite a few that post they have low blood pressure and I can imagine it will make things harder when trying to find medications

Keep working with your Doctor I know it can feel you will never get the right combination to suite you but you will :-)

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Hello there,

I've been searching all evening for low blood pressure posts associated with heart problems but they appear to be rare which worries me a bit because most heart meds seem to be for high blood pressure.

I too have low blood pressure with high heart rate plus Atrial Fibrillation.

I'm awaiting results from Papworth re MRI scan results I had a few weeks ago.

I also had an echocardiogram in hospital in September which showed I have severe tricuspid valve damage, moderate valve damage to the mitral valve, plus damage to both right & left ventricles with a low ejection fraction of just 23%.

How is your blood pressure now?

I'm just getting over a real bad bout of the flu that has knocked me for six. My blood pressure has been consistently low since being admitted to hospital at the end of August.

It was checked again this week at hospital, It was 84/58.

Heart failure Nurse has took me off diuretics for a while because they lower blood pressure, she told me I must monitor blood pressure daily.

She said she will ring me every few days for my blood pressure results.

I don't know about you but my low blood pressure makes me feel dizzy, sick, sweaty & tired.

Almost passed out in shower last week. I'm female aged 59.

Hi,

I was originally given bisoprolol to regulate my heart but kept landing up in hospital as it lowered my blood pressure too much. I am now on ivabradine and after tweaking the dose I seem to be on an even keel. When I’m ill my blood pressure goes down so I find having caffeine drinks help (normally caffeine free) and if desperate I have salt and these bring my blood pressure back up. These were advised by my cardiologist which goes against the grain but it works for me. (Horrifies all other doctors 🤪🤣)

I also react badly to a lot of medications including pain killers, antibiotics, anti inflammatories, contrast dyes etc etc so I struggle with most things. My life is a balancing act and very challenging and made worse by people not understanding as it’s not the norm.

I’m sure you will find the right balance for you, it just takes a lot of tweaking.

Not what you're looking for?
