echocardiogram results from the hospital and echocardiogram result showed that my aortic root is dilated to 5.1cm 6 months ago today I had scan in the community and the doctor who did the scan said he doesn’t think the aortic root has dilated to 5cm in 2021 it’s was dilated 4.9cm which was fine at hospital. Quite confused here .thanks in advance

echo cardiogram measurements of the same thing can vary by 5-10% depending on who takes the measurement, exactly how they take them and the equipment they use

if you are confused you should ask your doctor to explain why they are not concern and what would concern them it is part of thier role to help you understand your condition

you could also try calling the BHF helpline and one of their specilist staff might offer an exlpanation
