Aortic Regurgitation Anyone ?
Hi LinniellizzieDid they tell you how leaky your aortic valve is? Mine is severe aortic regurgitation and moderate stenosis so I will eventually need valve replacement surgery x hopefully it is mild. Do you have any symptoms???
No one would say how bad it was, so I guess I will have to wait for more info once the referral kicks in. I am trying to stay focussed. I think there was always a small leak even when I had OHS on the mitral valve but perhaps it has worsened. No real symptoms apart from a bit of breathlessness but I have had that since surgery. Of course I have lots of anxiety symptoms now .......😱
Ahh it's awful when no one is telling you anything just makes your anxiety kick in to over drive that's what happens to me when I don't get my results through drives me insane! You still waiting for referral to cardiologist? Or surgeon?
Hello
I do not know anything about this but just wanted to say I hope they say it is mild to fingers crossed and let us know how you get on x
Thanks for your thoughts - just waiting for an appointment now - as always
Hello
Hope your appointments come soon as the waiting can be the worst bit
Let us know how you get on x
I will - trying to stay calm while waiting but anxiety is not helping. Why do we always imagine the worst scenario 😂
Hello
I ask myself that so many times and I make myself ill and then get so annoyed with myself after
I wished I knew the answer why we think this way if I did I would tell you x
Haha I have read lots of your posts over the years and know that fighting anxiety is a big thing for you. I guess it gets us all in one shape or another. I have decided to stop googling until I hear from a cardiologist...................
Hi 👋🏼 - oh that’s a bit of a shock for you. So sorry! I will keeping everything crossed that you don’t need surgery again and that the aortic regurgitation is mild. I had dilation of the aortIc root apparently before my surgery for aortic valve replacement (didn’t know about it beforehand- was never told!!) and they repaired it at the same time as doing the AVR. All best wishes
Sarah
Hi, I have mild aortic regurgitation and slightly enlarged aortic root. It is currently being monitored, I am due a repeat echo next year to see if it has worsened. I only found out about it last year. So far it is not at the stage where I need to see a surgeon. All the best to you.
Thanks for your thoughts - much appreciated - I am just waiting to hear from either the cardiologist or surgeon who operated on me last time. Anxiety is proving a bit troublesome. Trying to keep things in perspective though.
Hi there iam sorry to hear about your health issues. I had my echo done in March this year and my local hospital only told me in June because I had a CT scan done that my Arota Root dilation is already at 4cm. Of course I started to panic and felt that my life has just fallen apartbecause I had been left in the dark about the measurements of the Arota root. I just take one day at a time because I know my time on this earth has been reduced. My echo is due again this month, I have no follow up appointment which this is concerning for me. MyCT scan came back and the hospital said there were no blockages with my arteries and veins. My heart seem to be intact. You just need to feel more positive about life, I know it's heard. This web site is the best thing for all of us, it's like having an extended family.Good luck, thank positively.Take care.
